Family displaced by Cornelius house fire

Emergency crews battled a house fire in Cornelius Wednesday night.

CORNELIUS, N.C. – A Cornelius family was displaced after their home caught fire Wednesday night, officials said.

According to Huntersville Fire, emergency crews were dispatched to the 17000 block of Shady Glen Drive just before 10:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, officials say they saw flames coming from a bedroom window on the second floor of the home.

Additional crews from Cornelius and Mecklenburg County also responded to the scene to assist. Officials say the fire was contained to the room it started in, and that no one was injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
