Fire damages Myers Park home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A family escaped a fire that damaged a Myers Park home Monday night

The fire started in the 1600 block of Sterling Road at 11:50 p.m.

The home was heavily damaged and two cars were destroyed during the fire.

A firefighter sprained his leg during the fire, but is expected to be okay.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
