Apartment fire intentionally set, officials say

Fire tore through a Charlotte apartment building, burning it to the ground.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Officials say an apartment complex near the SouthEnd neighborhood was intentionally set on fire Wednesday night.

Nearly two dozen firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control at Brookhill Village, an unoccupied apartment complex located at the corner of South Tryon Street and Remount Road. Charlotte Fire confirmed that the building was due to be demolished and there is no reported value in damages.

Authorities have not yet said if the blaze is connected to the arson case at a SouthEnd condo complex earlier this week.
