CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A third suspect has been identified in the murder of a 90-year-old man.
Gaston County Police arrested 36-year-old Willie Frazier in connection with the murder of Ray Jackson.
Police found Jackson's body under a bridge in northwestern Gaston County on Tuesday. Jackson was reportedly last seen by his family on March 5. Police said at the time that Jackson suffered from memory loss as a result of brain surgery several years ago.
Frazier is charged with first-degree murder, according to an arrest report.
On Thursday, police arrested 42-year-old Brian Carver and his 22-year-old stepson Joshua Rick in connection with the murder of the 90-year-old man. Both Carver and Rick were each charged with felony murder, according to their arrest reports.
UPDATE: Gaston County's District Attorney dropped charges against Willie Frazier on March 27.
Frazier was released from the Gaston County Jail. Police said that when detectives started working on the case, they had probably cause to arrest Frazier in the death of Ray Jackson.
But Capt. Rosselle said they soon found new evidence that cleared Frazier.
