Chase suspect appears before a judge

Suspect accused of leading police on a chase through city streets, makes his first appearance before a judge.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- The driver who was arrested after leading deputies on a chase made an appearance in court Monday.

According to Gaston County Sheriff's Office, a call for a service warrant came around 7:20 p.m. Saturday night. The arrival of deputies ultimately lead to a car chase taking place along Highway 321 South.

Cameron Andrews, a witness, shared videos of the chase on Twitter.

The driver, identified as  34-year-old Tuan Tran, was taken into custody around 8:20 p.m. that night after crashing his vehicle. Tran was being issued a $50,000 secured bond.

Deputies say no injuries were reported throughout the incident.
