21 guns stolen in uptown pawn shop robbery

An armed robbery took place at a pawn shop on North Tryon Street.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An armed robbery took place at a pawn shop on North Tryon Street Wednesday afternoon.

Police say 21 guns were stolen from Cash America Pawn along with a video game system/accessories and jewelry.

The suspects were reportedly armed with handguns when they entered Cash America Pawn on North Tryon Street around 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday. 

Travis Boyd, 36, and Ian Russell, 33, were victims in the robbery but received no injury, according to police.

The armed robbery happened three miles down the road from where the woman was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department cannot confirm if the two events are related. The robbery at Cash American Pawn took place at 3:25 p.m., while the shooting occurred at 3:33 p.m.
