List: Safest cities in North Carolina for 2017

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bad news Charlotte! According to a newly released list, the Queen City doesn't rank in the 50 safest cities in North Carolina.

Alarms.org ranked each city by taking into account three key indicators: average population, violent crime rates per 1,000 people and property crime rate per 1,000 people.

"Because navigating through crime statistics can be a difficult and time-consuming process, we've done it for you," the website boasts.
