Local head-shaving event supports childhood cancer awareness

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte will soon see many bald heads walking the streets.

The Saint Baldrick's Foundation will be hosting two head-shaving events in Charlotte to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research.

In honor of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness month, the foundation says, "donations raised at events like this support research that gives kids their best chance at long and healthy lives."

The events have set their hopes on raising $30,000 and are expecting at least 25 head-shaving participants.

QueenCity 2016 at Hygge will be hosting the first event on Saturday, September 10 at 2pm. Noda Brewing Company will be hosting the event on Friday, September 17 at 4pm.
