NBC Charlotte collects donations for Goodwill on Make A Difference Day

NBC Charlotte's Make A Difference Day

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hundreds of people joined NBC Charlotte on Saturday for a donation drive for “Make A Difference Day” benefiting Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont.

Make A Difference Day is one of the largest annual single-days of service nationwide. For over 20 years, volunteers and communities have come together on this day of service with a single purpose: to improve the lives of others. Make A Difference Day is made possible by you and the people of TEGNA with support from Arby’s Foundation and Points of Light.

Larry Sprinkle, NBC Charlotte team members, and other on-air talent were at Park Road Shopping Center all day collecting clothes, shoes, toys, household items and any other donated goods.

Last year, NBC Charlotte's donation drive at Goodwill Southern Piedmont resulted in three full tractor trailers filled with 12,640 pounds of donations.

In addition to the donation drive, NBC Charlotte surprised Goodwill with a $5,000 financial contribution to support their mission of changing lives through the power of work.
