Pedestrian hospitalized after Uptown hit and run

Police began investigating an accident involving a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police began investigating an accident involving a pedestrian early Thursday morning.

CMPD says the incident was a hit and run and the driver has not been found. The accident occurred around 1 a.m. on Brookshire Boulevard near Davidson Street in Uptown.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital by Medic, officials say. 

A hat and shoe lying on the ground were visible following the incident and police blocked off inbound Brookshire Blvd. in their investigation.
