Car crashes into Plaza Midwood business

One person was injured after a car slammed into a Plaza Midwood tattoo shop early Monday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was injured when a car slammed into a Plaza Midwood tattoo shop early Monday morning.

The incident happened at 10th and Central Avenue around 2:30 a.m.

According to crews at the scene, the driver was not seriously injured in the accident.  He was transported to the hospital non-emergency.

The cause of the accident remains  under investigation.

The business has been in the area for about a year and a half.  The owner told NBC Charlotte appointments were booked throughout the day Monday, but they will be forced to close because of damage from the accident.

The owner of the business said he thought a retaining wall in front of the shop would prevent this type of accident from happening.
