Six things to do in Charlotte this weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- With a beautiful weather weekend forecasted, it's the perfect chance to get outside and into the Halloween spirit in North Carolina. We have some ideas that'll let you do just that.

Three Spirits Brewery Crafts & Drafts

Friday, October 14.

Get a jump start on holiday shopping while relaxing with beer and food at the Three Spirits Brewery, located off Old Pineville Road. The Charlotte-based brewery will offer 20 plus local artisan and food vendors to help kick start holiday shopping from 5 to 9 p.m.


Saturday, October 15.

Wanting to get out and explore Charlotte? Check out this scavenger-hunt-like event that takes place all over the Queen City. Participants can bike, walk, or ride transit to event-sponsoring businesses while collecting stamps in your Biketoberfest passport. At the end of the hunt, you can redeem your collected stamps for raffle tickets and a chance to win prizes. The event is sponsored by Sustain Charlotte and tickets cost between $10 and $30 depending on how active you want to be.

Apple Harvest Festival

Saturday, October 15.

Windy Hill Orchard's apples are all picked and that means it's time to celebrate. This will be the orchard's 23rd festival which they claim is a 'fall family tradition.' The harvest festival will be a day long event from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are two types of $10 tickets: admission and hayride or admission and hard cider. Either way you go, you're in for a fun time.

South End Wine Festival

Saturday, October 15.

The neighborhood wine festival will offer unlimited tastings from 25 different vineyards, live music and food trucks between and 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Classroom Central and their mission to equip students living in poverty to effectively learn. General admission tickets cost $35 and the designated driver entry is $10.

Pineville Fall Fest

Friday, October 14 through Saturday, October 15.

This family fun event is great for music lovers. Two stages will host a variety of live music including country, classic rock, family entertainment, Eagles tribute band, a pie eating contest and more. Take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather at Pineville Lake Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

NODA Ghosts & Legends tour

Saturday, October 15.

This is the 7th annual Ghosts & Legends tour, proving that people come out alive and well. The free and guided walking tour of Charlotte's Mill Village turned Arts & Entertainment district will be from the intersection of N Davidson & 36th Street through the streets of North Charlotte. According to the event website, tour-goers will see sites and hear stories about the sordid neighborhood's history, ghostly legends and colorful characters. Tours leave every 15 minutes between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. from The Evening Muse located at 3227 North Davidson Street.
