Common Market announces new SouthEnd spot

Common Market was forced to close in July. Now the new Common Market will remain in West Tremont Avenue.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Common Market is returning to SouthEnd with an all new location.

The new location will be located at 235 West Tremont over by Sycamore Brewing and Atherton Mill.

The new space will hold 7000-square feet of warehouse and patio spots, and owners say there will be some new features as well as the staples like some of the old furniture, an expanded bar, deli, coffee and "quirky market, just as before".

“Our goal has always been to remain in South End as a neighborhood gathering place where everyone is welcome,” said Chuck Barger, owner of Common Market. “We’re so excited to continue that energy in a new spot in South End.  We do not aim to replace but rather renew again the funk that makes Common Market great.”

The new space will also accommodate a music stage for locals to catch their favorite acts.

It's set to open sometime in the spring.
