The announcement of a gay couple's union in a local newspaper angered some of its readers.
A notice celebrating the commitment ceremony of two gay men in York County caused some cancelled newspaper subscriptions.
The notice was printed in the Herald of Rock Hill on Sunday. Similar to a wedding announcement it gives a description of the ceremony.
Herald subscriber Hollie Bennett saw the notice, cancelled her subscription and sent an email to friends asking them to take action.
The Herald's publisher said there will be an upcoming column explaining more about why the notice was published.
