An investigation was under way Sunday to see if charges would be filed
against a security guard involved in a shooting outside a Food Lion
store.
The incident happened at the Mallard Pointe shopping center on North
Tryon Friday night.
Police said a man inside the store got into a verbal and physical
altercation with the security guard.
The security guard asked the man to leave the store.
Witnesses said that once outside, the argument continued between the two.
Police said the suspect was about to attack the guard, when he was shot.
That man is expected to fully recover.
