RALEIGH, N.C. -- National Guard officials are planning mobilization ceremonies this week for the final five companies that will deploy to Iraq in 2009 with the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team.
The guard says ceremonies are scheduled Friday for G Company, 230th Brigade Support Battalion in High Point and B Battery, 1st Battalion, 113th Field Artillery headquartered in Monroe.
Ceremonies are scheduled Saturday for units of the 113th Field Artillery. They are Charlotte-based Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, Belmont-based 113th Field Artillery Support Element and A-Battery in Lincolnton.
About 4,000 soldiers from the brigade are scheduled to deploy to Iraq in the spring. The brigade's previous Iraq deployment ended in early 2005. A ceremony for the entire brigade is scheduled for April at Fayetteville.
