Reginald Peters

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are searching for a convicted sex offender who cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet.

Police say Reginald Peters is wanted on a probation violation and failure to register as a sex offender.

According to CMPD, Peters was convicted in Mecklenburg County of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was ordered to wear a monitoring bracelet in October 2008 after he was charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Police say Peters cut off the monitor shortly after his probation officer discovered pornographic materials inside his home.

Anyone who sees Peters should call the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-VCAT.
