STANLY COUNTY -- The woman who is accusing Kellie Pickler's father of attacking her with a steak knife says the two were childhood friends growing up in Albemarle.
She said she got back in touch with Clyde Pickler Jr. when she started writing him while he was serving time in a Florida prison. They married last month and this week she says he came at her with a knife. But Danielle Pickler also told WCNC this wasn't the first time Clyde Pickler was violent. Arrest warrants show his new wife alleges he held a steak knife to her saying, "You know that guy I stabbed in Florida that didn't die? Well it's gonna be different this time because you are going to die."

Danielle Pickler also said her husband was intoxicated early Wednesday morning when he shoved her into their bathroom and wouldn't let her out. She said her 18-year-old daughter finally had to call the police to get help.
Police charged Clyde Pickler with three counts: assault on a female, communicating threats, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Danielle Pickler also said she she's spoken with her family and if the American Idol’s father is willing to go to counseling, she's willing to drop the charges. That, however, would be up to the district attorney.
Clyde Pickler’s next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 28.
His daughter Kellie is moving on with her signing career, and so far she isn’t commenting on her father’s latest arrest.
She is scheduled to appear in Charlotte for a concert with Brad Paisley this July.
