A local high school graduate who made it to the top 24 on ‘American Idol’ returns to the Charlotte area this weekend to sing a local restaurant and at the Bobcats game.

Sarah Mather will sing at Riley’s, 19701 Bethel Church Road, in Cornelius Friday at 10:30 p.m. It’s a $5 cover charge and Mather will sing until 2 a.m.

Mather will sing the national anthem Saturday night at the Charlotte Coliseum when the Bobcats take on the Miami Heat.

Mather is a 2000 graduate of Providence High School and now calls Wilmington home. She was eliminated from ‘Idol’ Feb. 23
