Fire erupts after man asleep at wheel hits guardrail

A man fell asleep at the wheel Thursday night and crashed into the
guardrail along the interstate sparking a car fire, the Highway Patrol
confirms.
The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. along Interstate 77 at the
Nations Ford exit.
Charlotte firefighters were called to the scene and quickly doused the
flames. The driver was not injured.
