CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three men have been arrested for breaking into an east Charlotte home while an undercover police officer watched.

Police say when the trio kicked in the door, the police officer followed them, but they ran away. They were arrested a short distance away on North Tryon Street.

The three were under observation by the undercover officer, but police won't say way.

They are suspected in other break-ins, police say.
