Men use bright green getaway car

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Three men have been arrested for breaking into an east Charlotte home while undercover police officers watched.

Jerorian Abraham, 20, Adelbert Kevin Redo, 20, and Dontavius White, 19, are charged with felony breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

“I think that they are dumb,” said a witness as he laughed.

The witness said the suspects may not be as bright as the color of the alleged getaway car.

“The first time that I saw a bright green car around here," he said.

The witness became nervous when the green car started circling the block for nearly two hours. He called police.

Undercover officers were keeping an eye on the suspects.

“It looks as if they hit the door pretty hard,” said homeowner Jose Ramirez.

The suspects allegedly kicked the front door open at the Hartsell Place home. From there, they took off and police in marked units pulled them over.

"It’s sad you know, to find that there are people in the streets doing bad things instead of getting a job," Ramirez said.

Since the beginning of 2008, there have been 12 home burglaries within a half-mile radius of the Ramirez’s home.

Police said the three men are suspected in other recent home break-ins.

More charges could come as police continue the investigation.
