CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., has checked out of a Charlotte hospital after spending one night there with what a spokesman described as "flu-like symptoms."

Spokesman Andy Polk said Friday that Myrick was released from Carolinas Medical Center on Thursday night and was resting at her Charlotte home. She spent one night in the hospital after she had experienced problems since Sunday.

Myrick was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in the Republican sweep of 1994.
