CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- A Carolina native will have to wait to make his "space debut".

NASA offcials called off Saturday's space shuttle Endeavour launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida after discovering a hydrogen gas leak.

Whenever, the space shuttle does blast off, Dr. Thomas Marshburn will be on board. Marshburn is a Davidson College graduate from Statesville.

Marshburn joined NASA in 1994 as a flight surgeon. This will be his first mission in space.
