Counterfeiters spend $45,000 in fake cash

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Police say fake $100 bills are making the rounds in the Charlotte area.
Davidson police say someone has tried using counterfeit bills at two different stores in the last few days.
Police believe the same people have successfully used the fake bills in stores from Hickory to Greensboro in the last few months.
Police estimate the crooks have handed out about $45,000 in fake hundreds.
