CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- East Mecklenburg High School will forfeit their 2007 season and the school system has disciplined three East Meck employees -- two coaches and the athletic director. All this comes after an investigation into allegations of illegal recruiting and practice violations.

Head football coach Greg Hill is suspended from all team duties until Sept. 2. He'll still teach physical education. Assistant coach Richard Green is suspended from two sports seasons. He'll stay on as a teacher's assistant.

Athletic director Bill Dulin is removed from his position permanently, but will stay on as a physical education teacher.

East Meck was one of three Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools football team probes. South Meck and West Charlotte also had to forfeit their 2007 seasons.

The West Charlotte investigation involved players with false addresses. The East Meck findings were much different.

"It was inappropriate recruiting of students and there were practices, there's a rule that prohibits practices on Sunday and prohibits film to be reviewed on Sunday and so those were among the violations that we found out," saidDeputy Superintendent Maurice Green.

A volunteer coach was also found to be involved in recruiting three football players. He will no longer be allowed to assist in any CMS football programs. East Meck also has to pay a fine of more than $7000.
