COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a Lancaster man accused of fatally hitting a motorcycle driver has turned himself in, several days after fleeing the scene.
A spokesman for the Department of Public Safety says Markevious Deandre Hood turned himself in Saturday. Hood faces a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with a death. A bond hearing is set for Sunday.
The 25-year-old is charged with running into the back of a motorcycle Wednesday evening after losing control on a bridge overpass on S.C. Highway 903 in Lancaster. Authorities said the bike rider, 68-year-old John Haver of Lancaster, died of head injuries.
Public safety spokesman Sid Gaulden says Hood dragged the motorcycle for about 100 yards before his car stalled, and he fled on foot.
