CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- This afternoon temperatures are in the low 80s with partly sunny skies. We are expecting isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. These storms are not expected to be widespread.

As we look ahead towards the holiday weekend, temperatures will be in the upper 80s with partly sunny skies Friday through Monday. A weak cold front moves through Friday, which will give us a small chance for showers and thunderstorms every single afternoon.

The First Warn Storm Team continues to track Tropical Storm Gustav. Depending on Gustav’s track, it could become a hurricane by next week making a direct hit to the Gulf Coast. We could see rains from Gustav in the next week and a half.
