Teacher says he'll press charges against family member

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In the courtroom, Jerry Seale did not say a word about the teacher to student sex charges. On the way out of the courthouse however, Seale blasted his accuser and a member of her family.

"The only comment I have is that I was held against my will in the bathroom by one of her family members," said Seale.

Seale faces four felony sex-offense charges stemming from accusations by a former student. We witnessed as Seale exited a courthouse bathroom and a man shouted, “I’m just asking.”

"I could not understand," Seale said.

The former teacher may have not understood what the man was asking but said he'll press charges because the man held the bathroom door.

"The only thing I want to say to the student is I’m sorry she did this to me," he added.

Seale claims innocence and that he is the victim. He taught at Derita Alternative School last year. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system suspended him this summer while police investigated the alleged sex crime. Seale said he resigned Friday because of medical issues. Police arrested him Tuesday morning.

“They (the allegations) are not true because people know about me. They know what kind of person I am. So, I don't worry about that,” he said.

Seale posted bond. His initial court appearance Wednesday was to set a future court date.
