Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department Police arrested these two women in Tampa Sunday morning. They said the woman on the left is Angela Keathley, a member of the Charlotte TopCats. The other woman gave police the name of another TopCat, but police now believe she lied and gave them the name of one of her teammates. By 6NEWS Staff
Panther’s officials told 6NEWS the two women accused of fighting at a Tampa Bay bar have been dismissed from the squad. The Panthers are able to fire the two women without a legal conviction because they said their actions violate team conduct policies.
Monday, 6NEWS head for the first time form the woman one of the cheerleaders is accused of assaulting.
“She was screaming I am a Panther cheerleader. I’m not going to get arrested for this. And, I was like, that’s good for you but you are going to jail,” the alleged victim Melissa Holden said.
Holden said she felt the fury of a former Carolina Panther cheerleader. Tampa police said Victoria Renee Thomas punched Holden in the eye. The assault happened at bar called Banana Joe’s Saturday night.
Witnesses said the bar was busy and there was a line to use the women’s restroom. Police said Thomas and another Panther cheerleader, Angela Keathley, were having sex in the stall. When they came out, the women who were waiting to use the bathroom let them have it.
“I stood there and confronted her. I said what the heck took you guys so long and she hit me,” Holden said.
It had been widely reported that another Panther cheerleader, Kristen Owen, had been involved in the assault. Tampa police said that is totally not the case. Police said that Victoria Thomas used Owen’s ID and claimed to be Owen. For that reason she has been charged with a felony.
If Tampa police determine that Kristen Owen’s ID was stolen, Thomas could face additional charges. The third-degree felony Thomas already faces carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Kristen Owen spoke to 6NEWS Sunday and said she was not the person police arrested in Tampa over the weekend.
6NEWS talked to Kristen Owen Sunday night and she said she was no where near Tampa this weekend.
Owen will not comment who the other woman is, but only that she had her ID.
The TopCats were not in cheering at the Panthers game Sunday, but police said some of them made the trip to Florida anyway.
Now the real Kristen Owen and her family want to set the record straight.
"It's pretty obvious you can look at those pictures that were arrested and it's not her," said Owen's dad.
Officers are trying to get a statement from the Kristen Owen we talked to on Sunday. They are also trying to talk to Renee Thomas, the TopCat they suspect they may have really arrested Sunday.
Police said they are working with the NFL to see if they can get more information on the TopCats involved in this incident.
Officers also said once they determine who the woman is she will be charged with providing police with false information. They are also looking into other charges.
