CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police say a Charlotte woman tried to stab one of four men who broke into her home on Thursday afternoon.

The woman told police that four men broke into her home on Dunstaff Road in the University area just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

The woman attempted to stab one of the men. Another man fired gunshots in the home, but the woman was not injured.

Police say the men fled the scene in a white four-door car. It was last seen on Harris Boulevard.
