UNCC students stage peaceful protest

UNCC holds 2-hour "lay in" in response to Keith Scott killing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Students of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte staged a peaceful 'lay in' protest Wednesday afternoon in response to the deadly police shooting of Keith Scott.

More than 300 UNCC students assembled in the student union. The protest lasted for over two hours.

Organizers say they want to send a message to the school leaders and community members that change is needed following Tuesday night's deadly shooting.

The student protestors are made up from UNCC and AACP.
