Woman killed in car accident night before Thanksgiving, juvenile airlifted

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. -- A 39-year-old woman was killed in a car accident the night before Thanksgiving while driving with two juveniles.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says the car accident occurred around 8:06 p.m. Wednesday near 530 Calvary Church Road in Chester.

Brandy Gardner was driving a 2002 Chevy Suburban when it drifted off the road. The Chester County Coroner says Gardner over-corrected causing the vehicle to barrel-roll.

The coroner says Gardner was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car, subsequently killing her. She was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:20 p.m.

There were two juvenile passengers in the vehicle, the SCHP says.

The female juvenile was airlifted to the hospital. The coroner says the male juvenile had no injuries. At this time, it is unknown whether the juveniles were wearing their seatbelts or were ejected from the car.
