York County Detective dead after heart attack at daughter's wedding

It's a heartbreaking story of a family's loss during their daughter's wedding.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. -- York County Police Detective Tim Buchanan died Saturday after suffering an apparent heart attack following the father-daughter dance at his daughter's wedding, according to a Go Fund Me account.

"During the wedding, after the father-daughter dance, Tim had a heart attack. Sadly, he didn't survive it," the Go Fund Me account stated that was set up for Buchanan's wife, Jeni. The wedding took place in Costa Rica.

Jeni took to Facebook to ask for privacy, prayers and to express her grievances saying, "Over the years we raised four amazing children," and that, "He was the most beautiful soul I have ever known and I will never be the same without him."

She also expressed her appreciation for a photo taken of her husband and daughter before the wedding. "Little did I know just a few hours later we would lose him."

The Go Fund Me account was set up by a friend for Jeni due to her career; "Many of you know that Jeni is a wedding photographer, and understandably, she will need some time away from that, so any financial help would be greatly appreciated."

According to York County Sheriff's website, Detective Tim Buchanan was a long time member of the YCSO family.
