Louisville cheerleaders suspended after election night tweets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Multiple University of Louisville Cheerleaders were placed on investigative suspension following election night posts on social media.

University officials said Cheerleader Brynn Baker and others are under investigation while administrators look into the circumstances that led to some specific Tweets. Head Spirit Coach and Spirit Coordinator Todd Sharp confirmed the tweets WHAS11 sent him to belong to Baker, here is the statement he released:

“As the Head Spirit Coach and Spirit Coordinator, I am very troubled and concerned about the exchanges that took place in social media late last evening involving one or more of our student athletes. We have worked very hard to build a successful and incredibly diverse spirit program here at the University.  These conversations over the last day are not an accurate representation of our program, our values, or our coaching staff. We are investigating this matter and will take appropriate action upon the completion of such.“

More updates will be released as soon as they become available from the University of Louisville.
