ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) — A portion of a terminal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport has been evacuated after authorities say a man walked through a passenger screening checkpoint and refused to comply with security officers.
Airport spokesman Mike Conway says the man was arrested by airport police after passing through the checkpoint about 7:50 a.m. Monday at the McNamara Terminal. Conway says he was being questioned by police.
Conway says the man's vehicle was located at the airport in suburban Detroit and was searched and towed.
Conway says security doors were lowered between the security area and terminal concourse, and people in that area were evacuated. He says security screening resumed about 8:40 a.m.
People evacuated from the terminal were screened again.
