There are new details on the future of Charlotte's Eastland Mall.
Two companies have submitted their proposals on what they'd like to do, and they have big plans.
Ark Ventures, the same company who developed the NC Music Factory, wants to build something similar there in four phases. The master plan brings lots of features to the area.
First there's a film studio that would be on the lot; plus there would be shops, apartments, athletic fields-- which include a ski slope and a wave pool, and a greenway. All of that would surround a man made pond.
Studio Charlotte is the other group in the running. They also want to build a film studio there, along with a film school. There would also be a hotel, retail space, office space and apartments.
A team of city staff will review both proposals with input from city consultants.
They'll present their findings in mid-July.
