BESSEMER CITY, N.C. -- Multiple departments responded to the scene of a house fire in Bessemer City early Thursday morning.

Around 5:45, crews from Crowder's Mountain Fire and Rescue, Bessemer City Fire Department and Tryonota Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the 300 block of East Georgia Avenue.

When firemen arrived on scene, flames and smoke were billowing from the front window of the one-story home.

It took 20 firemen about 20 minutes to extinguish the flames.

No injuries to either firefighters or civilians were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force.
