CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Four people were injured in an accident involving a car and SUV on the Brookshire Boulevard Monday morning, officials say there may be a third car involved.

The accident happened around 10 a.m. in the 5700 Block of Brookshire Boulevard.

Authorities say a 1998 Honda Civic driven by Bai Yang was traveling inbound when the left tires ran off the road and into the grass median.

Yang over corrected, flipping her vehicle on its side -- causing it to slide into oncoming traffic striking a 2005 Ford Expedition.

The driver of the Expedition and his two children were treated and released from the hospital.

Officials say Bai Yang remains in critical condition.

Investigators are now looking for a third vehicle that may have been involved in the crash.

Witnesses who remained on the scene, told officials a gold or tan colored Cadillac merged into the Yang’s lane causing her to lose control.

It is unclear if the Cadillac and Yang's vehicle made contact, but the driver didn't stay on the scene.

The Real Time Crime Center provided a photo of the vehicle matching the description from a DOT camera at Hoskins Road and Brookshire Boulevard two intersections form the area of the crash.

Anyone with information about this vehicle or the events of the collision is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or the Major Crash Unit at 704-432-2169.
