CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police raided a third sweepstakes parlor this week.
Police raided the Broadway Sweepstakes off of South Tryon Street in southwest Charlotte on Thursday.
The LPM Sweepstakes off of Old Pineville Road was raided Tuesday. A second sweepstakes parlor, the Queens Gold, off of South Tryon was raided on Wednesday.
Authorities said the investigation was launched at the Broadway Sweepstakes after detectives received information concerning illegal slot machines and sweepstakes activity.
As a result of the investigation, detectives identified a combination of 83 electronic and slot machines in violation of North Carolina gambling laws.
The machines contained poker, bingo, keno and other video games whereby players deposited money in order to play, according to police.
Detectives also seized more than $7,400 dollars in cash during the raid.
Casey McMackin, an employee at the parlor, was cited for operating slot machines.
