CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools superintendent Dr. Heath Morrison offered a morning greeting to Ardrey Kell students as they waited for a school bus.
It was one of many first-day-of-school stops for the new CMS boss.
Dr. Morrison also read to first graders in a classroom and minutes later was seen greeting parents, students outside another school.
"This is a very exciting day for me...to get to meet as many of these students as possible," said Morrison as he paused to speak during one of his stops.
Morrison will visit all parts of the county and every grade level Monday as he meets with students and teachers sharing a welcome word.
Morrison will visit 10 schools including, Ardrey Kell High School, Smithfield Elementary, Sedgefield Middle, Chantilly Montessori, Garinger High School, Northwest School of The Arts, West Charlotte and Oakdale Elementary.
This is all part of Morrison’s plan to pay a visit to every single campus in the school district within his first 100 days.
"This way I hear what our students and parents are concerned about," added Morrison.
