CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Organizers of Charlotte's Thanksgiving Day parade says while it won't be on the same scale, this year's event will bear some resemblance to the Macy's parade in New York.
Other media outlets report Charlotte Center City Partners says it's altering the format of this year's parade, adding live entertainment in front of the main review stand.
The group has taken over the role of organizing the city's 67-year-old parade, but organizers also stress that favorites from the past, including more than a dozen high school marching bands, will remain a part of the Charlotte parade.
The parade begins at 9:30 a.m., a half-hour earlier than in the past.
Novant Health is sponsoring the parade, replacing Belk. Organizers had canceled the parade because of a lack of financial backing.
