CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced they positively identified a man they say robbed a South Boulevard bank last week.
Police said a bearded man robbed the Wells Fargo bank around 4:40 p.m. on November 29. He was later caught--with a gun--on the light rail a short time later.
After making the arrest, police could not identify him, but on Thursday morning they said he is 56-year-old Richard Paul Wiley.
When police searched Wiley they also found cash that is believed to belong to the bank.
Wiley is charged with common law robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting a public officer.
