TEGA CAY, S.C. -- Croquet anyone? Did you know that the only public croquet course for miles and miles around just opened in Tega Cay? Grab your mallet and get out there.
For the past two years an enthusiastic group of Tega Cay residents have been rallying for a croquet court in the city. Over 100 of them banded together and coughed up their own cash to get the court completed. It was a celebration for all at the ribbon cutting ceremony on September 11.
The Tega Cay Croquet Club is 112 members strong today and growing. You do not have to be a member to play on the course. In fact, any one of the members would be happy to meet you down there for a quick lesson. I learned in about 20 minutes!
The cool thing about croquet is that anyone can play, young or old. It combines close communication with the strategy of golf, billiards and chess. Just remember to wear your whites!
