 Celebrate Earth Day in Charlotte with freebies, deals, and fun events. All of the freebies are “while supplies last.” The Earth Day Events page on Charlotte on the Cheap will be updated with more events so you might want to bookmark it.

Origins: Get a full-size facial cleanser when you bring any old cleanser (even an empty container) in to Origins on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. Read details and get the coupon.

Disney Store: Bring in five plastic grocery bags Sunday, April 22nd, 2012,  and get a free reusable bag from Disney.

Target: Get a free reusable bag Sunday, April 22nd, 2012, from guest services.

Pottery Barn Kids: Bring the kids to Pottery Barn Kids Saturday, April 21st, 2012, or Sunday, April 22nd, and get a free packet of sunflower seeds.

Charlotte Nature Museum: Bring the kids to an Earth Day Playdate Saturday, April 21st, 2012, from 10am to 1pm. The activities, including fort-building, gardening demonstrations, and fairy house building, are included in the price of admission, which is $6, but there will be also be free activities taking place on the Freedom Park Greenway behind Charlotte Nature Museum.

Earth Day Celebration in Matthews: Matthews is celebrating Earth Day on Saturday, April 21st, 2012, from 10am to 1pm at Stumptown Park. Enjoy live music and environmental activities.

SYRCL Wild and Scenic Film Festival: The Fillmore, at NC Music Factory, hosts this film festival on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012, from 1pm to 4pm, featuring nature and environment themed films, and benefiting Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation. A $5 donation is suggested.

The Last Word: Paint records and plant seeds at The Last Word’s Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21st, 2012, from 1pm to 5pm.
