CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Supporters of the $290M schools bond package mixed a little politics and Panthers enthusiasm Sunday.

They called their efforts "Tailgating for Education Bonds".  The money would be used to build three new schools.

Also on the ballot, four at large City Council seats, six Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board seats, and a bond issue for Central Piedmont Community College.
