GASTONIA, N.C. -- A family is homeless after a fire ripped through their Gastonia home Wednesday morning.
The Gastonia Fire Department responded to 1601 Patricia Street at 2:30 a.m.
When firefighters arrived at the home they saw moderate smoke coming from the attic area. It took fire crews around 10 minutes to get fire under control and put it out.
There were no injuries. Four adults were displaced and the Red Cross is assisting the family.
The fire caused approximately $30,000 in damages to the house.
After an investigation, it was determined the fire was caused due to electrical problems around the breaker box.
