HICKORY, N.C. -- A firefighter was injured while working a blaze at an apartment complex in Hickory on Monday morning.
Around 5:30 a.m. Monday, fire crews arrived at an apartment complex in the 600 block of 2nd Street Place SW to find flames billowing from the building.
A second alarm was activated, and a total of three engines, one ladder and rescue truck and two command vehicles responded to the scene.
By 6:30, crews had the blaze under control.
Fire officials say one fireman was injured, but has since been treated and released.
Investigators now say they believe the fire was set intentionally. A reward is being offered from the Arson Awareness Council for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person responsible.
