IRON STATION, N.C. -- You won't find peaches at Lineberger's Berry Hill Fruit stand in Dallas.
Sunday's storm produced golf ball sized hail, damaging most of Harold Lineberger's crop in Iron Station.
The farmer figures it will cost him $20,000 in lost income, and it wasn't the only damage his crops have sustained.
“The freeze and damage, that's what we dealt with before the storm,” said Lineberger as he assessed his damage.
At his fruit stand, only a few baskets of peaches sat on the shelves Thursday.
Normally, the roadside stand would be full of the summertime favorite.
"You can't let one thing like that floor you. Sunny years, dry years, too much water, every year is different and every year has problems," he said.
Lineberger says he'll clear the rotted fruit from his land, spray and prepare for next year's harvest.
"You've got to protect next year's harvest," he said.
Lineberger said insurance will help cover some of his loss, but it won't help with the total loss.
