HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Early Christmas morning, a Huntersville home was destroyed by fire.

At 6:11 a.m., the Huntersville and Long Creek Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at the corner of Mascot Lane and Detroiter Drive.

When the first engine arrived on scene, the mobile home was fully involved.

Crews quickly went to work dousing the flames, and were able to bring the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.

The Mecklenburg County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating, along with the Huntersville Police Department.

The home is a total loss. Officials say the mobile home appears to be abandoned, and no one was inside at the time of the fire.
